- 侦探 (全稱:偵緝探查,英语:Detective) 是負責调查案件的職業。指负责调查的調查員(investigator),意思可以是刑警或私家侦探。前者是专门责调查及侦破刑事案件的警察。后者则是通过私人委托,为雇主调查婚外情、寻人、尋找机密等的事情。
- 在文学中,有很多以侦探为主角的小说,历史亦很悠久,称为侦探小说(Detective fiction)或是推理小说(Mystery fiction)。
